The Lottery Response

1. If I was to name this story I would name it The Lottery because in this story is mainly about a lottery in a small town and old tradition.

2. I thought that there would be a lottery and that someone would be either stoned to death or just be stoned.

3. At the end I felt very anxious to find out what happened at the end and a huge void because we would not now what happened for the rest of the day.

4. I was confused when handed the paper but then someone in our group look in and told us what it was so that spoiled the void. But I did open it at 5:00pm though.

5. I felt like I really wanted to know what was the box what’s in the box and what does the black spot mean.

6. The whole story I was under suspense in wanting to know what will happen with the rocks and the lottery and when I read the end I fell into release and I was happy. I felt this way because I was really curious in what was going to happen and then the cut of and the end and waiting made me feel like there was a huge void.

7. Yes my predictions were correct and when I found out that I felt happy because I got it right.

8. To make a better prediction I think more info would help.

9. The author leaves voids in the story to make it more interesting.

10.

A: With no title your have no background information so your building suspense from the beginning.

B: With no ending you have so much suspense you really want to find out the ending.

C: With the clues you learn a bit more and a slight release of the tension.

D: The mystery paper and the delayed ending did not work on me because someone in our group looked inside and told us what was in it.

E: With a delayed ending I was in a lot of suspense and waiting for 5:00 pm

F: Nope

Band HW (Void)

The International School of Kuala Lumpur provides and exceptional  education that challenges each student to develop the attitudes, skills, knowledge and understanding to become (silence) a highly successful, spirited, socially responsible global citizen.

I think putting the word in that spot would create tension. I think this because it is far into the mission statement so your not thinking there would be a silence in the reading. Also it builds up a question and answer because you are wondering what the student is about to become and then is answers to the question. The silence also makes tension because you really want to know what it is and then there is a release when you find out the end of the sentence.

Composers can create tension and release in their music by adding a sudden stop so people want to know what is happening next. Also you can make tension and release by slowing louder so people are waiting for the climax and then it comes and there is a release.

Connections

I chose this picture because like in the YouTube clip it is showing happiness. If you look carefully you might make out a face and it is smiling. There are many other happiness pictures but this is the best because you have to try and make out what it is you don't just see it. Like happiness, it does not just appear you have to make it up and then it becomes clear.

I think this man is trying to show that everyone likes to be seen and heard so he goes around the world dancing and he is letting other people be seen in it. Matt talks about Tribes and every thing you do your tribe crows because it takes a lot of people to make something happen not just one person does one thing. He is also trying to make people happy by doing a funny dance so he is spreading happiness.

Complimet Guy

I think what those two guys are doing is really cool and nice. I think this because everyone loves to get a compliment about something they do whether it be what they wear or what they are doing. Those guys are right there are a bunch of gloomy people out there( not everyone) but everyone has a soft spot and if someone compliments you, you might become more happy of what they do.

I chose this image to represent my post because it shows free compliments just like the two guys were doing out on the street. There sign said " FREE COMPLIMENTS" So this I think is a good picture to represent the post.

My Name

I chose this Picture to represent my name because it shows confusion. Like my name. Where ever I travel people don't always say my name right or make fun of it and then get confused of why my name is that so I think this is the best image to represent my name.

My name means lover of hounds. It is Irish. I like my name because it is right for me. I think this because I love animals especially dogs. I have always loved dogs my whole life. When I was little I used to go to my cousins house a lot and I would just lie down with my best friend tome the dog every day and watch T.V. The only problem was that they lived in Malaysia and I lived in Australia so I did not see Tome much. But after eight years of my life my family and I moved to Malaysia and I lived at my cousins house for one month.

I was named mostly by my mum and my dad agreed to the name Conor. That's right Conor is my name Not Conner or Connor just Conor nice, short, unique and straight to the point. Well I think it is unique I don't think I know anyone with the same spelling as me. So I'm lucky. It was hard choosing my name though my mum also liked other names like Joseph but there were already too many in her family so it was Conor. She liked it because it was Irish and my mum is Irsih and my dad is Chinese so I have a Chinese last name and an Irish first name.

Some of my friends use to tease me, because I like soccer. They used to say "Conor take your kick." As in "corner kick" and I did not like it. I got really annoyed. But it was OK after a while it got old and not funny. that was in Australia. When I moved to Malaysia some of my friends could not say my name correctly because of their accent so they would call me "Corner" but I understand why and it did not feel like teasing. Conor Irish a lover of hounds short, sharp and straight to the point like me.

“The road of life twists and not the destination.”

“The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” I chose this Quote (By: Don Williams, Jr.)
because I think it tells a lot about a journeys within and physical journeys. This shows how in your life there are two choices to take if witch ever one you take you will can never go back on it. So your life is up to you too decide and if you make the wrong decisions then you have to suffer it.

7th grade feedback

1. What piece of work and learning are you most proud? Explain.
The giver themes poster is the piece of work I think I am most proud of, because I put a lot of effort into it and I tired really hard to make it good. I also think it was my favorite piece of and the one I am most proud of because I thought it was really fun and a good idea.

2. What were your greatest challenges? Explain.
I think my greatest challenge was finding the class rooms because they are all over the place and some are really hard to find. Like Mrs.McQeen because her room is hidden really well. I also found that the homework was hard to mannage because in 5th grade we did not get much homework.

3. Reflecting on your growth this year, what did you learn about yourself as a learner?
During this year My growth has been that my reading has improved and I learned what type of books I like, Adventure. I found this out only this year because we read 4 books this year and I really liked most of them because it had a lot of adventure in it.

4. To evaluate your work habits, choose 1 of the following from each category ( and provide explanations):

a) Behavior
My behavior could be improved a little. I think if my behavior improves my grades would be better. Also to improve my behavior I could pay attention and not sit with people that make me not pay attention.

b) Participation
I think that my participation is good. I think this because in most of my subjects I participate a lot. I think this because I have good idea's and I understand most of the things that we do in all our classes.

c) Organization
My organization is really good. I think this because I know I am really organised and I have everything I need for all of my subjects. I also hand work on time most of the time but I could improve to have work in 100% on time.

d) Effort
I think my effort is good. I think this becuase Iput effort in to my work. But I could go the extra mile and put more effort into my work. Also I am an alright student and I work hard on most of the work I do.
